February is Black History Month

So, I snooped around to find an African American in the GLBT community that deserves recognition. I found Alice Walker, she was in the GLBT history month for 2008.

An activist and a feminist, she actually coined the term "womanist" and that is what she considers herself. She wrote the book, The Color Purple. Walker is gay and lives with a partner.
